As backyard farmers there are times when we produce way too much of one thing. Wouldn't it be nice to connect with a fellow backyard farmers in Miami who would exchange their excess produce with yours?

mycelium links

someone asked me about the mycelium reference I made on Saturday. The video can be viewed online at:
http://www.ted.com/talks/lang/eng/paul_stamets_on_6_ways_mushrooms_can_save_the_world.html
(cut and paste into your address bar)

Or - you can read the transcript at:
http://blog.ted.com/2008/05/paul_stamets.php

while I'm not on board with all of Stamets' ideas about saving the world - he brings to light how important a role mushrooms (mycelium) play in our world. enjoy.

Urban Oasis Nov potluck

I enjoyed hosting the potluck and sharing my garden with other gardeners. Thanks to Yuhfen and David for the dumpling class - it made the day extra special. Thanks too, to Frank for bringing gifts from his garden for others to take home. And, well, thanks to everyone who came and brought such delicious food and such good energy. Dig on. xox Joyce
