I enjoyed hosting the potluck and sharing my garden with other gardeners. Thanks to Yuhfen and David for the dumpling class - it made the day extra special. Wild edibles reviewed

It was nice to see some LocalFoodMiami people at the Saturday EarthSave potluck program about wild edibles. I would have liked to have had more discussion on wild edibles! But I think I can recap the speaker’s (George Eisman, RD) intent for those who could not attend.
Wild edibles can provide nutrition and are free! Just be sure they’re harvested from non-polluted environments.

Giving Back Green - Green Light GO

So we're all lined up and ready to go. As always we are relying on volunteers to help build the beds this weekend Oct 10th & 11th from 10 am until 2 pm at the Enchanted Forest at 135th street and BIscayne Blvd. You can sign up on www.heroesunite.org or just show up wearing comfortable and protective clothing. Since we will be lifting heavy materials it is not recommended for chidlren under 12. Feel free to call wit h any questions. See you there!

The USDA's Community Food Projects (CFP) Competitive Grants Program provides the major funding source for community-based food and agriculture projects nationwide.
